1.I spend most of my online activities on social media such as Tiktok, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter. Other than that, I use it for school work with using it for assignments 2. In the article, "How to Spot Fake News, Propoganda, and Deceptive Social Media Posts" goes into an in-depth argument about how their are false posts and comments on social media. Although it does get harder for us as a society to notice when it is real and fake, we need to be more cautious when we see something posted. Society needs to go more into depth into what we see. With all of the examples and advice that was stated within the text, made me realize how much false information is out in the world. The statement towards the end of the article states "If we can’t always rely on our media to help us discern what is reliable and what is propaganda, we can at least demand better of ourselves and what we choose to share". It really stood out to me because many generations do rely on social media since that is what we all grew up with. It has me double check what I read and see by checking out my sources I found it from and finding another one that has the same fact or theory. 4. For my second article I decided to read "As Covid Cases Rise, U.S. Surgeon General Issues Warning Against Health Misinformation" by Peter Wade. This article shows a spread of misleading information. In the article a man states "Health misinformation is a serious threat to public health". False information will be expressed out within society and the situation will fall apart. People may be posting or commenting false information in order to get more of the "popular" views in order to be "famous". However, even though they may get the views or likes they want, they are not helping society with the cause that is currently happening. In this case, Covid. Moving forward, I hope society can be better at this as far as lowering the false information that are posted in order to not affect us as people negatively.
