Reflection: My research that I developed over these past few weeks was interesting. I found very intriguing facts that I did not realize about teenage pregnancy. All I have heard are stories from my friends or around my peers about what people have gone through. Now that I have research, there have been plenty of statistics that show the struggles that teenage mothers go through. People have to support themselves financially, suffer with a difficult home life, being able to manage their future goals with a pregnancy and more. This research made me emotional with the evidence I found. The lack of resources teenage mothers have breaks my heart because I cannot help them as much as I want to. It made me realize that not many people seem to care about teenage pregnancy because of the lack of help that is available throughout the world. Although I have not experienced a teenage pregnancy myself, I hope to find more resources for them so they do not have to struggle as much as they do now. This topic of teenage pregnancy helped me grow as a writer and person because it caused me to open my perspective on life. I realize that people struggle with things behind closed doors, but teenage pregnancy would have never popped into my head of things people may struggle with until now. The research was fun to do, I enjoyed my topic and got to write about an idea that I wanted to pursue. However, it was hard to narrow down my topic of teenage pregnancy because there are so many ways to research it. The narrowing of the topic was the most difficult part out of the entire project. I wanted to write about so many different ideas because of how many facts I found. The other part of research I found sort of difficult was finding reliable sources. Since this was my first time writing a research paper, I had to be careful of what evidence I found. Thankfully for UC Berkeley Library, I found many of my sources there, along with YouTube videos. Teenage pregnancy would be a topic I would research again.
